I wanted to update my topic with pictures at work somebody locked it. Why??

Ive seen alot of topics getting locked. Why are we making topics then? This is not a rant just a question.

Ive put alot of effort into uploading these pictures with my mobile and post it, kinda sad to see the topic get lost =(

Normally i would ask this on teamspeak but yeah i cant since i am at sea

Topics get locked after days of inactivity on it I believe. I know one reason they get locked Is to keep people who create accounts on the site from reviving topics that are months old and have no other activity on it other than using it to get post count up, just keeps the spam down some. My best guess would be a week or week and a half of inactivity on it would lock it but @@Sybren or @@Miltz might be able to correct me on that if I'm wrong

thanks for clearing this up. Its a good way to keep the forums fresh though. But some topics should stay imo. I wasnt posting pictures on it anymore bcz i was home. Now i am at sea and have some fresh pictures ready. Anyway doesnt matter tbh

Hey jamie mate.

Its pretty much exactly this what @@Caregan has said.

After a certain amount of days it auto-locks.

If you wanted to have it unlocked so you can carry on posting contact one of @@under constr @@Fatigues @@Miltz @@Sybren

@@Snurf just pm one of the ranks when needed to unlock topics. It's not a big deal for us :D It's rather useful for the majority of other topics.
