get an independant mechanic to check it over,then contact the dealer with the mechanics report,ask for full refund or the car be fully repaired so your mechanic can check.be calm and civil when contacting the dealer ,theres also several things to factor in ....i.e. was it sold as seen,do you have a warranty(usually a month or 3 at least)..how many miles have you drove since purchase ect..but to sum up if they knowingly sold you a shit car then you have every right to go court(last option as they might still ignore the court).

I'm really sorry to hear about this situation happening to you.

 

I can completely empathise with you, as I have family that have done similar things to me, just not as hefty.

 

I hope this all gets sorted for you and your girlfriend!  What a terrible thing, honestly.
