can someone break this down for me Barney style as to how it gets people smites? Didn’t happen to me just curious.

you don't technically need a BGS for the smite tactic to work, just having 2 people w/ d spears & a team of ancient macers (atleast 15-20) is enough to get +1 smites. The trick is doing 2x d spear specs, then everybody does ancient mace specs using nothing else but ancient maces, guarantees a smite for +1. Trust.

they didnt do it properly. basically bgs drains stats, and the stat drain registers before damage. 

 

From wiki:

 

"The Bandos godsword's special attack, Warstrike, has doubled accuracy, inflicts 21% more damage and drains the opponent's combat stats equivalent to the damage hit in the following order: Defence, Strength, Prayer, Attack, Magic, Ranged. Warstrikeconsumes 50% of the wielder's special attack energy."

 

 

"For example, if Warstrike inflicts 50 damage on a foe with 30 in all combat stats, it would drain 30 Defence and 20 Strength levels (leaving the target with 0 Defence and 10 Strength).

 

 

extrapolating on this information that means on a level 126, you have to deal a combined 99+99+99 dmg in one game tick to drain there prayer to zero and "smite" the player.

 

When a player is d speared it delays damage for 3 game ticks, all damage cumulatively registers on the 4th, this allows an oppurtunity to put 298 combined bgs dmg into a maxed player over 3 game ticks to drop there prayer and effectively smite them. As the stat drain registers before the damage is resolved =  prayer drop.

Basically as wiggly said, you rly dnt need that much damage and if you're speared there is nothing you can do. Even with low hp all the damage comes in 1 tick so you'll be smited, just loom our for the bgs shit.

in short, the bgs spec has that chance of extra decreasing of prayer points depending on what you hit. Doing it with a shtload of people guarantees the successrate of a smite.
