wigglywalrus 84 $ DONATOR $ Posted February 24, 2018 Hey friends,I just recently finished 99 hunter at black chins and found it to be ridiculously fun as well as reasonable profit (1m+ an hour) while being pretty afk and offering the variety of some really fun anti-pking. Along the way I encountered some mindblowingly competent singles pkers as well as lots of juicy whales which were harvested for their resources. Ie: From 73 - 99 Hunter I made about 150m; 50m from whales, 100m from chins, and watched netflix/shitty superhero movies the whole time. Anyhow i will probably keep doing it past 99 and figured I might as well make a guide to anti-pking and hunting here. Requirements: 57 woodcutting for waka canoe, 73 hunter. Basic inventory setup: This is my chosen inventory setup, you can grab more restores and sarabrews if you desire and change up the gear. For me I find this is more then sufficent to tank a half tb vs a clan of 4/5 people, I like to have lots of basic food for fighting. I highly recommenced bringing an adamant axe as it substantially reduces the time it takes to create the waka canoe. Everytime you bank I would reccomend re-equiping a glory (6). There is no worse feeling then rinsing some shit-brids and then realising your glory is uncharged and you will be releasing your chinchillas back to there wilderness home. Gear setup: My recommendation for gear is have a +1 ko weapon and then three LOW VALUE,+3 items you can protect. This gives you the choice to skull up if you see a juicy whale, and keeps you relatively safe from skull trickers. I would highly recommend against bringing 4 high value items as talibans/uniques/outlawz and other singles Shitters will spend vast amounts of time attempting to skulltrick you for your +3's In this setup I am using a claw switch as my highvalue ko weapon. My other favorite combination is to bring a dragon hunter crossbow with dragon (e) bolts, and then a gmaul as Ko potential switch. Efficient Trap Placement: < The three circles are chinchilla spawn locations. This is my favorite set-up for traps and placement for box traps, I am primarily focusing the chin spawn to the north. The eastern and southern traps are both within lure range for two more chin spawns. This means I am kept busy setting/resetting traps almost constantly. If at anytime all my traps are set and chinchillas are not in them I will bolt all the nearby chinchompas to respawn them closer to the traps. 3 tick hunting: So if you go on google and search 3t hunting you will find guides for tick manipulation primarily using guam tar, or log fletching animation cancel. The basic Idea is that setting a box trap takes 5 game ticks, however if you perform a 3tick action and then set the trap, The trap will be placed in 3 game ticks instead. At around 90 hunter i discovered a method of 3 tick hunting with simple animation cancelling which is far less click intensive then the more commonly known alternatives. Essentially you set a trap using the normal 5 tick animation and as soon as the trap appears on the 3rd game tick you manually move away before the animation finishes and set another. Using this method it allows you to skip the first two ticks of the animation allowing you to place the second and following traps on a 3 tick rotation. The best comparison would be lighting logs in firemaking, after you set the first log alight, the others cant be lit much faster, it is essentially the same except you have to manually move away and set another trap yourself.Using this animation cancelling method I catch about 450 chins an hour with minimal additional clicking as opposed to 300-350 offered without animation cancelling. I'm happy to show the method in-game as it's pretty self explanatory to see, but a little hard to explain in text. Anti-pking: It is extremely easy to kill unsuspecting pkers here as they often do not bring combo food and feel safe behind there protection prayer. There are two basic methods of getting kills here. Saving a vengeance combo for your opponents special attack. Or acting like a whale using incompetent venge timings and using a melee ko special attack with a pot-drink to hide it.There are 3 primary classes of pkers you will encounter at chins.solo bridders, small teams of shitters, and expert skulltrickers/max med/main teams. The basic idea is to attract as many of the first two categories as you can while not piquing the interest of the third category, as they will likely be the only people competent enough to confiscate your hard won chinchillas. I personally find that wearing d boots and no obvious highly defensive BIS gear or visible +1's means lots of whalelords will attempt to focus me. while not being worth the time of anybody who is actually competent and doing clan activities in singles. Strategies for killing pkers.Tbers: are some of the easiest loot, pray magic and bolt them until they chuck up range prayer, try to quickly dump melee specs before a brid hits you off the kill, tbers generally camp robes so if you act fast they are very succulent for quick kills. Pures: you have mad stats on them, don't be afraid to flex and rinse them, bring a gmaul and you can make them kneel from full hp. I nearly always smite vs pures, even max pures at 88 combat have 52 prayer. They are very likely to donate claws/brings/onion staffs etc. Solo pkers: I highly recommend praying range. they will be forced to either range you through prayer, or wear robes and cast barrage on you which isn't very effective as you will be wearing full hides. I reccomend holding your vengeance vs brids as they will eventually get fed up of you camping range prayer and come in with melee to ko you, this is where you drop your venge and dump all melee specs. Competent teams who tb you: If it's pures/max mains you can attempt to run down if they don't have any focusers that are around your combat level. If they have similar combat focusers your best bet is to run west to hobs. Just run in circles and chug your stam pot. With less then 5 competent people it's pretty hard to focus people on a half tb in hobs. I would recommend being respectful to competent pkers here as there is a strong community aspect at chins. After a couple mill exp here most of the singles teams don't touch me anymore and are pretty happy to come hit teams off me etc. 5 syckness, Sybren, BEY0ND_G0NE and 2 others reacted to this Share this post Link to post
