MissedTheBus 34 Posted December 19, 2017 (edited) I'm making this guide to help illustrate and hopefully answer some of the questions that some of our members may have. This guide is targeted for the newer members, but hopefully I can also help point out some new and interesting things to the more experienced members also. While I believe the shit that happens in the wilderness determines the capability or skill of a clan, many other clans believe CWA is the best place to prove organization and earn respect as a clan. CWA is something I found myself to be passionate about and enjoy, so I figured I'd share some of this shit with y'all. Everything in this guide is solely my opinion based on my previous clanning experience. Ill start of with the builds, and inventories and delve further into the CWA mechanics and tactics that I find viable and important to highlight. I'm literally going to add every single thing I know and have been taught into this post. And as a reminder, this is for 55 defence cap single spells. I put more focus into the range tank section as this is what I have the most experience in and can provide video examples of. Please post in comments things I may have forgotten and feel free to give your own input/banter #vengup Zerkers The sole purpose of a zerker is to apply max DPS to the focused pile. An 85+attack zerker should bring a rune defender/D scim switch, while zerkers with lower attack should bring d spears. Many people I've noticed in the past few preps and inners seem to be confused about the d scim spec. Please understand that spears and scims are what win any type of clan vs clan fight in this game. Let me put it this way, if someone lands a d scim spec on a targert while this person gets speared; it will like 99% of the time result in a quick and easy kill. This is why at the start of the clan war, you often hear me say "who's got first scim and whos got first spear?" The beginning of a CWA fight should result in these two specs being dropped on the target at hand and ultimately result in an instant kill. If any of y'all are like me, I prefer visual examples to help in visualize something. Take a look at the following vid, you can see 100m speared backwards off the get-go while the scim takes down prayer, wallah, easy kill, for a dogshit, dead fuckin clan. If Rev kids with missing chromosomes can do it, just about anyone can. I'd like to add that just because there is a 55 defence cap doesn't mean y'all can't bring rune defenders... (I know you elder members know this but the young bucks seemed surprised when I mentioned this) As for gear set ups, don't be a lazy fuck like me and get barrows gloves l0l 85+ attack Zerkers Note: rune/rockshell legs for tanking, god d'hide chaps for range bonus + magic defence May substitute warrior helm for berserker helm for +5 slash accuracy, or use b ring (i), based on preference/attack level May substitute for tent whip and rune defender and use a kiteshield for tanking. 75 attack zerkers Note: If you are able to afford ring of suffering (i), I suggest bringing that if you are spearing. As for scimming, I prefer warrior (i) but again IMO Note: rune/rockshell legs for tanking, god d'hide chaps for range bonus + magic defence Dually noted: fuckin train your attack 60 attack zerkers Most likely to have to sit out. Just train, you are respectably worthless. As this clan continues to grow, the application process for 60 attack zerks may change. MM2 is currently a requirement and the H ballista is adequate for the wilderness, but not in CWA. BIG DICK MEDS 75/99/75 80/99/70 60/99/75 + AUG/RIG Y'all muthafuckas are the backbone of this clan and the most prevalent build. Very versatile in the clanning scene with ability to mage if needed with the use of augury, or go the melee route with the benefits of piety/rigour. Same thing applies to meds as does with zerks with the exception of attack levels. IMO I suggest the piety pures (60 attack) to mage and bring spears while the 75 attack meds bring melle/range with spear or scim/rune defender switch. Really up to you based on the versatility. 75 Attack Meds Notes: I personally have had a 75 attack med but I have never done CWA with one. That being said, I have been in a few main clans and this is my preferred set up. Since 75 atk meds can be compared to mains, I posted my main set up. - Would highly suggest ring of suffering - Buy fuckin granite boots. Climbers in 2k17? come on bruh. They are equal to rune boots in melee defensive stats, but have +8 range defence bonus and +1 strength bonus (worth the 200k...) -I would like to highlight that while granite legs have better defence bonuses than rune, they also have a -18 range attack bonus! That negative bonus is important to be aware of, as it nearly negates the accuracy bonuses of rigour when activated. I say this because I did notice a few of you with granite legs the whole fight. -18 range attack bonus is HUGE guys and severely handicaps your DPS. - As for granite shields, IMO I wouldn't use them. Rune kites have better melle defence bonuses and are only -2 range attack bonus compared to - 8 with granite. Piety Pures (60/99/75) with AUG/RIG Notes: Honestly not familiar with this build. If I owned a piety account and clanned, I'd mage in CWA fights, but that's again my opinion. Looking for input on opinions or gear setups from people with 60 atk pietys. - This set up is what I use on my range tank and I'll place it here. With this set up, you can also bring a range switch. If you decided to do that, bring a god d'hide chap switch for range and use the granite legs for tanking. Range Tanks 75/70/75+ with AUG/RIG Range Tanks also have a valuable role in clan wars. As I have clanned mainly on a range tank, I like to focus on three main priorities. The first being snipe freezing. This involves many different aspects but is usually defined as two or three pre-selected mages finding the enemy pile and literally freezing every enemy within melee distance of your team mate being piled. Snipe freezing also involves freezing returners from the enemy team attempting to get back into the fight and making sure that if an enemy pulls out a spear/scim, he frozen in place to give your teammate a more efficient tank. It's pretty self explanatory but I'll add a few gyazos for visual examples below. The second priority of a range tank involves the "tank" aspect. With 90+ defence, a range tank is utilized to absorb damage from the enemy team and be focused. A good tank will position himself to be piled by the enemy team in attempt to tank and survive as long as possible. This allots your team extra time to focus and kill enemies, therefore increasing your teams amount of kills and limiting the opponents kill potential. All of this is self explanatory and obvious but I think it should be addressed to give new comers a better perspective and purpose. Lastly, a Range tanks third priority also involves offensive freezing and controlling the fight. Having the ability to freeze a prospected enemy that is out of place enables your caller to transition to piles much more efficiently. How is it more efficient? Think of all of the times a caller says "switch to so and so 4 squares to the west". If that bitch being called gets piled, he is going to run, making it more difficult for the remainder of the team to find him. If he's frozen, it becomes entirely more EASY. I will talk more about mechanics later on in this guide. Notes: -Many of you other tanks will suggest a rig of suffering (i) but I find the new buff of the seers ring (i) to be more beneficial, along with the new wilderness capes. Like the rest of this post, it's all about preference and opinion based. - Some tanks like to bring granite bodies rather than d hide bodies. This is also a subjective matter. I think of it this way, if the enemy team has an adequate amount of mages, I'm going to wear d'hide for the mage bonus. Along with the high defence of a tank and seers ring (i) +12 mage defence bonus, the gear at hand makes it remarkably more difficult for opponents to catch a freeze on you. As for the granite body, if the enemy team has a low amount of mages and a high amount of nig rangers, I prefer the granite body for the extra range def bonus. Below is a visual comparison, NOTE THE DEFENSIVE MAGIC BONUSES BETWEEN AND THE RANGE DEFENCE BONUS. Example of snipe freezing 6 opponents and a spearer. Notice how the enemies in red tops want to transition to the next pile but are unable to do so. The 20 seconds that these opponents are frozen makes them inadequate and unable to do damage/ use a spear Meanwhile, my team obtains a kill to the west. Another example- literally right click their melee pile and autocast down the list on each one of those fuckers until you see and XP drop. D'HIDE BODY GRANITE BODY THIS IS FUCKING TAKING LONGER THAN I EXPECTED! SOME TACTICS AND GAME MECHANICS EVERYBODY SHOULD BE AWARE OF INVOLVING CWA I'm highlighting many things that will be obvious to the majority of you, just keep in mind this is for newcomers as well. - Number 1 and most important, bank your fucking glories. I don't care how good of a tank you think you are, anyone can get one hit if the timing is correct. - At the start of each match, check and makre sure you have a pneck equipped, as it may have broken from the previous round. - At the start of the match, everyone, yes including the mages start in their tank gear. Robes = Easy enemy kills -Use your spec energy and spear the shit out of everyone! -Use your spec energy and spear the shit out of everyone! -Use your spec energy and spear the shit out of everyone! -Use your spec energy and spear the shit out of everyone! - After a pile has been called, fall in on that person to prevent from sticking out to the enemy. - Anglerfish are considered the best food in the game ONLY at 93+ hitpoints. At 93+ hp, anglerfish heal 22 hp with the ability to over eat. (At 99 hitpoints, eating an angler boosts your hp to 121. at less than 93 hp, they only heal 17 - spear specs temporarily stun opponents and restrict them from eating a full order of food. (shark brew karam pneck is reduced to shark-pneck or shark-brew while someone is being speared). - Before you enter the CWA portal, you should eat an anglerfish, drink an extended antifire as well as an antidote++, as both of these potions protect you from poison dealt from tent whips and dragon bolt (e) procs. Tent whip poison can deal a total passive damage equivalent to 80 hp. (4 food). I think the by far most annoying thing ever is dying to a 65 d bolt proc while trying to tank. - The healing over maximum HP provided by an anglerfish diminishes at 1 hitpoint per minute. You can maintain the maximum hp possible by flicking rapid heal once every 30 seconds or so. This is pertinent while waiting those 10 minutes for the other team to drop members or vice versa. - You have 2 game ticks in between spear specs to eat. In between spear specs, you can change protection prayers as well as consume/equip the following combination: anglerfish-brew, brew-karambwan, angler-superrestore, angler-pneck, brew-pneck, restore-pneck etc. video at the bottom - IMO the best mage to melee ratio is 35%-40% magers to 60%-65% melee. Or in a team of 20, having 7-8 magers and 12-13 melee/range. what do yall think? - Leaving the CC during a first to 25 fight is fuckin cheap - You can join a first to 25 kills fight at any time during the war. In knock-out or last man standing, you have to be inside the portal before the 2 minutes comes to an end and the round begins. - 60/75 attack zerks have little DPS and 75 def tanks can't tank Max out your accounts, this clanning, not w18 edgeville. - Grabbin hasn't seen his own dick since pre-eoc - If your down to brews and p necks and getting speared, quickly spam between the two of them back and forth in hopes to sipping the brew and equipping the necklaces between the 2 tick window. - Let the caller be the only person talking during the fight. Follow the calling order if the priority caller is tanking. (i struggle with this lol). The only time a non-priority member should speak during a war is if he is announcing the last spear spec, or if he has the next spear. this is key! - At 99 HP a pneck breaks at 20 hp and revives the player by 30 hp. - The correct eating order when tanking is shark then saradomin brew then karambwan then p neck. - Never during a CWA fight should you have higher than 25% spec. If you have spec energy, USE YOUR SPEAR. They are detrimental and can turn a fight around dramatically. I'm talking like 4 kills in 20 seconds.... - A enemy caller will focus players that are nearest. Be aware of your position and always be quick to transition into tank gear, especially if you are frozen or in robes. - Only smite if the enemy is further than 15 squares away. - I have noticed in a lot of the videos I watch that you guys prioritize tanking well, but a lot of the time you still have a ZGS or spear equipped. Make sure that you switch to your kiteshield if you're the pile. - As you continue to learn, you will learn to prioritize p necks and the correct prayer before eating food. - Understand that enemies use the attack style opposite to what you are praying. Continuously switch your prayers in between eating to minimize the amonut of damage you take LASTLY FELLAS, KEEP IN MIND THAT WE HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN OPEN FOR 3 GOD DAMN WEEKS AND ARE BEATING CLANS WITH MEMBERS WHO HAVE PLAYED THIS GAME THEIR WHOLE LIFE. THE POTENTIAL WITH THIS GROUP IS ASININE. IT WILL TAKE A LOT OF PRACTICE AND ORGANIZATION TO BECOME GREAT AND WE ARE GETTING BETTER AND BETTER EACH DAY. I'M READY TO BE #1 IF Y'ALL ARE. NOTE: STOP ASKING TO GO PK IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS NOT MAXED. MAX THAT SHIT OUT, IT WILL BE THE BEST DECISION YOU EVER MADE. Profanity 160 Posted December 19, 2017 Very nice post! I dont agree with the 85att+ zerkers tho, they should bring a whip since that does alot more dps and faster dps then a ZGS. 1 Fatigues reacted to this Share this post Link to post
