Preventing hacks and being hit offline.

Recently there was a post about someone getting ddos'd, so I thought I'd make a short guide with some basics to prevent shit like this.

 

Firstly...there's no such thing as "security" idc who tells you that there is, they are simply wrong.

If you have the time and resources you can crack anything, or sit back and let a botnet do the shit for you.

 

 

Ok, so, if you haven't already I'd suggest anyone and everyone that uses Skype to block their Skype resolve. And by Skype resolve I mean having your ip found by searching for a Skype username. Its very easy to Skype resolve someone, so take 5 minutes and block that shit google "block Skype resolve" and follow the steps. I'd post pics and links but I'm on mobile and it's a bitch as is.

 

Download a sandbox program, a sandbox program is basically a safe place to run any files you May think are malicious.

 

Virustotal.org I think is the website that allows free scans of sites, files and images I believe.

 

Don't download anything from anyone or anywhere without scanning It or sandboxing first, I'm not saying don't trust your friends and family...it's just sometimes your friends or family may send you something and they might not even know it's malicous.

 

I'd also suggest a dynamic router with layer 4-7 protection, it helps with traffic handling and shit.

 

If all else fails, buy a router with like 5g/ps and tank those bitch ass packets haha.

 

Short and simple guide, ill add more in the future when my brain works a bit better, stay safe.
