Some of you might want to know where i am at, most of the ships have an AIS system on board ( automatic identification system ) because of this you are able to follow our tracks on a map.

 

For thosr who are interested, you can google "marine traffic" at the first website on the google list you will be able to enter a ships name. Search for "zeehond" it should say its a dutch tug boat. Once you searched for it you will be able to see a map with the ships location. This is live data!

This website is kinda unique and you might be shocked how many ships there are currently at sea.

Airplanes also use this AIS system thats why there are alot of phone applications where you can see where the airplanes are.

We use the system to see the names of the ships around us if we need to communicate with them.

Also it contains alot of data: persons on board, course, length, width, depth and much more.
